P-07 Consultant:
WSP USA has an immediate opening for an Consultant to support the company’s growing
Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change offering. See wsp.com/advancingsustainability for a
description of our team and capabilities.
The Consultant will support a client–facing team in the design, implementation, and management of
organizational sustainability programs. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility and capacity to
work on a wide variety of projects and the demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional
teams. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability, self-motivated and self-directed,
collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products.
Location of the position is in any one of our team's eight locations; San Diego, Chicago, New York
City, Arlington VA, Portland, OR, San Francisco, Boulder, CO or Bethlehem, PA

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Developing and maintaining data management systems and business intelligence tools
• Developing entity-wide inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other resources
• Conducting verifications of entity-wide inventories for energy, GHG, water, waste, and other
resources
• Designing sustainability performance targets and accompanying strategies and achievement
plans
• Identifying and evaluating opportunities to achieve energy, GHG, and resource reductions
• Analyzing energy efficiency and renewable energy purchase options
• Researching best-practice sustainability programs and initiatives
• Producing sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communications
• Supporting business development activities with existing and prospective clients

 

Preferred Skills:
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and use of programs including Microsoft Word
and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with sustainability issues and frameworks such as CDP, GRESB, GRI, and the GHG
Protocol
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time efficiently
• Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity
- Ability to develop and present analyses using programs including Microsoft Excel,
Access, and Power BI

 

Education and Training:
• 0-3 years of professional experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
• Degree in environmental science, public policy, engineering, business administration,
sustainability, or related field is preferred.
• Experience in sustainability, energy, and/or management consulting is preferred

 

P-08 Associate Consultant:
WSP continues to search for Associate Consultants, Sustainability, Energy and Climate Change as part
of our Climate, Resilience and Sustainability (CRS) National Business Line. The Consultants will
support a client-facing team in the design, implementation, and management of organizational
sustainability programs. Candidates should be passionate about sustainability, self-motivated and self-directed,
collaborative, and able to produce high-quality work products. These positions will work as
part of a two-year cohort of Sustainability Diversity Fellowship recipients from WSP’s Chicago or New
York City offices.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 2 years of post-Bachelor’s Degree professional experience in an office environment
• Ability to work well with cross-functional teams on a wide variety of projects
• Strong oral and written communication skills with well-developed interpersonal skills,
maturity, credibility, confidence, and integrity
• Strong computer skills and use of programs including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies and platforms
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time efficiently
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and
conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety
and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

 

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in one of the above-listed disciplines
• 2+ years of related professional experience, in the Sustainability, Energy, GHG, Water, Waste
Engineering or Planning areas
• Experience in sustainability, energy, and/or management consulting
• Familiarity with sustainability issues and frameworks such as CDP, GRESB, GRI, and the GHG
Protocol
• Ability to develop and present analyses using programs including Microsoft Excel, Access, and
Power BI
